Amy’s climbing and guiding career has taken
her to the far reaches of the world. She led the first unsupported
American women's expedition to climb an 8,000 meter peak: Cho
Oyu (Tibet) She has first ascents on the northwest face of Artesonraju
(Peru) and Melanphulan (Nepal); and made expeditions to Mustagh
Tower (Pakistan) and Island Peak in Hongu Valley (Nepal). She
has 12 years of guiding experience and also guides for Exum
Guides, Chicks with Picks, and Women that Rock. In 2004 Amy
reached the summit of Mt. Everest as member of a film crew documenting
the 1996 tragedy.
